A versatile, soft-caned climber ideal for shaping to suit any space. This variety produces masses of small, deep crimson-red blooms in tight clusters, repeating beautifully throughout the season. The flowers open from round buds into shallow-cupped, ruffled forms that deepen in colour as they mature. Compact and free-flowering, it’s perfect for smaller garden spaces or where a more restrained climbing rose is needed.
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Water newly planted roses daily during their first season. Once established (after a year), two deep soaks per week during warm weather will keep them thriving. Apply a soil wetter in spring and again in mid-summer to improve water penetration. Feed every four weeks from late April to early May with a quality rose fertiliser. Prune in winter to encourage healthy new growth, and follow with a lime sulphur spray to help prevent fungal disease. Apply mulch to retain moisture, keeping it clear of the base of the plant.
