Known for its striking red-tinged leaf bases, Tasred adds bold colour to garden beds and borders. It forms a dense clump and produces small blue flowers and purple berries. Performs well in sun or shade and suits a wide range of soils. Ideal for modern landscaping or native-style gardens.
Spring
Tolerates both dry and wet conditions and tolerates frost well, making it suitable for a range of climates. It grows well in full sun to part shade and adapts to most soils, though very poor soils should be avoided. Water regularly for the first 2–3 months to help it establish, after that, minimal watering is needed. Ensure the plant’s crown sits at or above soil level, and give it a hard prune every 3–8 years by cutting it back to one-third of its height.
