A fast-growing, medium-sized deciduous fig tree that produces large fruit with greenish-purple skin and rich dark red flesh. Known for its excellent flavour, it is perfect for eating fresh, drying or making jam. A regular and heavy bearer, this variety often produces two crops each year, one in early summer and another in late autumn. It is an ideal choice for Mediterranean-style or edible gardens.
Self-Fertile
Figs grow best in warm, sunny positions with well-draining, neutral soil and hot, dry summers. They are hardy once established and tolerate light frost. Mulch well and water regularly while fruiting.Apply a complete fertiliser in spring and summer. Fig trees can also be grown successfully in large pots if pruned annually in winter.
