One of the hardiest and most adaptable fig varieties, requiring minimal maintenance once established. It produces purple-brown fruit with sweet, pale pink flesh and rich flavour. Ideal for eating fresh, drying or making jam. This variety grows well from coastal to inland locations and benefits from regular watering while fruit is developing.
Self-Fertile
Figs grow best in warm, sunny positions with well-draining, neutral soil and hot, dry summers. They are hardy once established and tolerate light frost. Mulch well and water regularly while fruiting.Apply a complete fertiliser in spring and summer. Fig trees can also be grown successfully in large pots if pruned annually in winter.
