A popular Japanese blood plum known for its large, heart-shaped fruit with dark red skin and juicy, sweet red flesh. Used for fresh eating, juice, jam, and stewing. Ripens mid-season from mid January. The deciduous tree has green foliage that turns yellow in autumn, followed by red and white spring blossoms. Suitable for small to medium gardens. Medium chill.

Choose a full sun position, protected from strong winds. Feed with fertiliser in spring and summer, and use liquid fertiliser during fruiting for an extra boost. Prune after fruiting in summer to maintain size and shape, removing dead, diseased, or inward-growing branches.
